Silence Equals Death consists of 5 dedicated musicians who have been active in the NJ/NY/MA Hardcore & Punk scenes for over a decade. Members have toured internationally and their music is distributed worldwide.
The creative talent that makes up Silence Equals Death include:

In 2012 the band released the super tight 4 song Resurrection EP. They looked to produce something creative and unique, yet familiar to the roots of NJHC. Fusing the fast circle pit style of punk with the hard aggressiveness of New York Hardcore, the EP quickly gained the band notoriety around the tri-state area as well as worldwide via the internet.

Years of personal turmoil followed the initial release and the band struggled to find its footing until the much anticipated full length album “End Times”, which was released on Eulogy Recordings in 2017.
Vocalist Scott Earth confronts deep personal issues such the loss of a loved one on the song Devotion and puts out a rallying cry of revolt on the songs End Times and Peacemaker. Common Ground celebrates
the unity between the band and its fans while Hope screams of perseverance in the face of adversity.
2020 brought the pandemic and another full length album “I’ll See You On The Other Side” which was released on Upstate Records.

2025 has brought a line-up change and a new sense of excitement.
SED continues to push the limits of the genre with out of the box musical and lyrical content. A new EP is slated for release before summer.
Origin: After the breakup of NJ’s In Search Of, vocalist Scott Earth found himself without the outlet that had defined his purpose. As someone driven to speak on social issues and amplify the voices of those who go unheard, the silence felt suffocating. While the name Silence Equals Death wasn’t chosen with full awareness of its historical weight, learning its origins made the choice feel almost inevitable.
The phrase has been used across countless movements, each rooted in the belief that silence in the face of injustice is complicity. Our interpretation stands alongside those: our voice is one of the most powerful tools we possess. When people unite and speak out together, it becomes a force that can challenge power, expose wrongdoing, and break cycles of ignorance deliberately imposed by those who fear an informed public.
We believe every person deserves to be heard. Every perspective matters. No act of oppression should remain hidden in the dark.
A voice should fall silent only with its final breath.
